Sarah Chapman

Candidate, Ware South

Sarah was born in Hertfordshire, returning to live in the village of Stanstead Abbotts 16 years ago after studying and working in London for a number of years.

Before retiring Sarah was a housing professional, working at a senior level for a variety of local authorities and housing associations in both development and housing management.  She is passionate about providing more truly affordable housing for local people in this very expensive part of the country.

Sarah has also been very involved in education for children out of mainstream school, sitting on the management committees of voluntary organisations providing education for children excluded from school.

​

She is currently a Parish Councillor for Stanstead Abbotts and a founding member of the local Neighbourhood Plan steering group, leading on housing and communications.

​

Sarah is the secretary of the Hertford & Stortford Constituency Labour Party and of the Hertford ad Ware branch. She has been a Labour voter and supporter all her life.
