Hertford & Stortford Labour Announce Candidates in Thursday 6th May Local Elections

Hertford & Stortford Constituency Labour Party have announced the candidates they have selected for the local elections being held on Thursday 6th May. Elections will be held to Hertfordshire County Council and will include by-elections to some town councils.


In Hertford & Ware, Rob Pinkham has been selected as Labour’s candidate in Hertford, All Saints division (which is made up of Bengeo and Kingsmead wards). Rob currently represents the Labour Party on Hertford Town Council. He has lived in Hertford for 35 years, has served as a magistrate for 29 years and has previously worked in local government, housing and social care.


Labour has selected Josh Dean as their candidate in Hertford, St Andrews division. Josh is the Chair of Hertford & Stortford Labour Party, he has previously campaigned on local issues like the Bircherley Green redevelopment and at age 17 he co-founded the non-profit Teen Voice UK.


Veronica Fraser has been selected as Labour’s candidate for the by-election to Hertford Town Council in Bengeo ward. Veronica has been involved in Bengeo’s Neighbourhood Plan and in the campaign to acquire Beane Road Marsh for community enjoyment. She also volunteers as Chair of her GP Participation Group.


Sarah Chapman has been selected as Labour's candidate in Ware, South division. Sarah is a Parish Councillor for Stanstead Abbotts and is a founding member of the local Neighbourhood Plan steering group, leading on housing and communications.

In Bishop's Stortford and Sawbridgeworth, Milly Lynch has been selected as Labour’s candidate in Bishop’s Stortford, Rural. Milly has lived in Bishop’s Stortford for 12 years, and she has studied, worked and volunteered in the local area.


In Bishop's Stortford West, Thomas Diamond has been selected as Labour's candidate. Having spent much of his formative years in the local area, Thomas now lives in Bishop’s Stortford and teaches at a local primary school.


Dawn Newell has been selected as Labour’s candidate for Hertfordshire County Council in Sawbridgeworth, and for the by-election to Sawbridgeworth Town Council. Dawn was born in the local area and has lived in Sawbridgeworth for the past 15 years, and previously worked as a service manager supporting adults with learning disabilities.
