Carolyn is a former primary school teacher. She was brought up in rural Derbyshire, in a politically minded family living in very overcrowded and poor housing.
"There was always a lack of money in our household, although we were surrounded by many well-heeled people. The resulting tensions made me understand social injustice in a very sharp way."
Carolyn is passionate about ensuring that children do not grow up in poor housing and poverty, and believes that every child should be in a position to benefit from a good education.
Carolyn is one of two Labour Councillors currently sitting on East Herts District Council, and has represented Sele Ward since her election in May 2019.
